The bar was established at the end of prohibition in the historic Oakland neighborhood. Owner Robert Stevens says he serves the coldest beer and the best barbeque in town, plus free popcorn. The courtyard, finished in 2008, allows for big parties and live music once a month. It's a cool, laid-back neighorhood bar. Nice people find a home here, Stevens said.

How fun is this bar?

Great bartenders, cold beer, family atmosphere and food

The Brass Rail is a great place for food, fun and cold beer. Dawn, who often is found behind the bar tending to customers, is fantastic, friendly and keeps the place running smoothly. Rob "Boj" Stevens, brings in live bands and sometimes even his own well-known band.

I feel very comfortable in this atmosphere and there is a great mix of people - from the very young to the very old.

A great place. Cheers!
