Within the Hyatt, The Gallery offers an intimate coffee and wine bar. The Gallery is an innovative welcoming arrival area where guests are greeted by a host who assists guests. The Gallery offers two self-registration kiosks, Starbucks coffee or wine, bakery, free Wi-Fi, a TV den and an e-room with free access to public computers and a printer.



Riegel's 20's West

901 S.W. Fairlawn Road, Topeka

The strip-mall space got a facelift two years ago and is a great place to catch big games. Just about everything looks good on the two new 60-inch HDTVs. (There are four other TVs, too.) The 20's West replicates much of the original place but with food. Don't overlook the 10-ounce KC Strip with salad, baked potato and roll for only $10. (Updated 7.22.09)



Michelle's Lounge

605 SW Fairlawn Road, Topeka

Michelle's Lounge -- a Topeka destination for more than 30 years -- is a quiet getaway. Go there for intimate conversation and enjoy the great food (fish, steaks and burgers). Eight beers are on tap, plus bottled domestic and imports and mixed drinks. Glenlivet and Gray Goose, Chivas, Jack Daniels -- all the good stuff -- available. Margaritas and daiquiris are mixed to perfection.



Joletta's

600 NW Paramore Street, Topeka

One of the cleanest bars in town, hard wood walls, flags over windows, neon lights, darkened ambience, and lots of interesting characters of all walks of life, including cowboys, attorneys, blue collar workers, lots of working men. Bartender Jennifer Falley has 13 years of experience and knows how to take care of customers.



Break Room

911 S. Kansas Ave, Topeka

A quirky little place in a cool refurbished downtown storefront where you can buy a bottle of beer, hot dog, espresso drink, ice cream and grilled panini -- among other things. There's a pool table, 15-foot screen projection TV, wireless internet and a small convenience store. As the place's name implies, it's a great spot to escape work for a few minutes. (Or more!)



Victoria's

5011 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka

Opened in 2008, Victoria's is still building a reputation on the bar scene. It has lots of neon beer signs and plenty of mirrors (great for touching up lipstick). The full-service bar is run by a friendly staff willing to mix just about anything for you, and they keep the place clean.



Old Chicago

1231 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka

Old Chicago is a regular stop for adventurous beer drinkers. More than 100 names are on its World Beer Tour Hall of Fame in Topeka after drinking 110 different beers in stock. Old Chicago is filled with Chicago memorabilia, including Chicago band album covers and old Chicago newspapers. Its specialty is deep-dish Chicago-style pizza.



Reed's Lakeside Bar & Grill

2920 SE Croco Road, Topeka

Formerly McB's, Reed's Lakeside Bar & Grill, attracts regulars as well as people from neighboring Lake Shawnee who want relief from playing baseball, golfing, fishing or swimming. Relax in Reed's cushy chairs, enjoy the food and drink from the bar while watching sports on one of many TVs. Local boxers Derrick and Damon Reed also owns Reed's Ringside Bar just north of Topeka.



Tailgators Sports Pub and Grub

2025 S.W. Urish, Topeka

Brrr. Tailgators boasts the coldest aluminum bottles of beer in town -- downright frosty. Watch the big game in a smoke-free environment on one of 18 TVs, including a 6-foot projection screen. No need for smokers to feel left out. Tailgators offers a heated and air-conditioned patio. When the weather is nice, the glass garage doors on the patio are opened. Food and drink specials every day.



Uncle Bo's (Ramada Hotel)

420 S.E. 6th , Topeka

With blues fans congregating from across the state, Uncle Bo's offers live, nationally recognized acts Friday and Saturday nights. Look to Uncle Bo's Web site for a listing of shows. Advance tickets are sold to bigger concerts, but most nights it's first-come, first-served, and the place can fill up fast. If you've got something special to celebrate, book the VIP room just off the stage.
