New City Cafe

Located in Gage Center, New City Cafe has been a Topeka gem since 1997. Though the outside is unassuming, the inside of New City Cafe will make you feel like you've been transported to a different place with a unique decor. The bar offers a fabulous selection of wine. Sip your favorite or try a few during one of the monthly wine tastings. Great food, too.



Sakura Restaurant

5632 S.W. 29th St., Topeka

For anyone who has wanted to try Japanese sake (a rice wine) or any other Japanese drink, go here. Of course, you might just love the sushi or something from the grill, but the bar also serves a variety of Japanese drinks. Look at the menu for descriptions. Sakura has a full bar, but the bar area is small -- just five chairs to pull up -- so you might want to plan on ordering drinks with dinner.



Below the Row at RowHouse Restaurant

515 S.W. Van Buren, Topeka

Enter this ultra-chic sophisticated bar through red velvet curtains. There's space for 12, making it a cozy spot for drinks for two or guests waiting for tables at the upscale restaurant above. Like the rest of the RowHouse, the bar retains the old home's charm with an old fireplace, but it mixes in a contemporary, cool vibe. A great place for good wine or ask about the specialty cocktails.



Paisano's Ristorante

Paisano's Ristorante is a romantic eating establishment, featuring authentic Italian food and wines. The drink menu includes a dozen specialty drinks. Kansan Grill

In addition to having eight beers on tap, 22-ounce drafts, every liquor you can think of and daily drink specials, there's live entertainment on Friday nights. The food menu features Creek Stone Black Angus beef from Arkansas City, and state workers receive a 10 percent discount.
